Fun. Imaginative. And Playful. Those were probably the first memories we had of Austin’s Children Museum, but as they closed their doors in September, the city has decided to introduce a new concept of exciting education: The Thinkery. Opening it’s doors later in December, we’re offering a sneak peek into the redefined museum that will introduce “STEAM” learning (science, technology, engineering, art, and math). Utilizing interactive exhibits, children from 6 months to 11 years will discover a new favorite to Austin.
Here’s what Lynn Meredith, honorary co-chair of the museum, had to say about the Thinkery:
“Given the growth of our great city, now the time has come for a world-class institution where children and families in Central Texas can learn and grow together. Austin Children’s Museum holds a special place in my heart and our family has supported this project because of the positive impact it will have on our community for generations to come.”
Your Sneak Peek at the Thinkery

- Bloom (garden-themed space for toddlers)
- Fresh! Farmer’s Market
