Does Remodeling and Staging Matter in a Hot Market?

We recently helped a client remodel and stage a house that had been a long-term rental property. While it wasn’t in bad shape, it had always lacked charm, had little curb appeal, and we were worried that even in a strong seller’s market that it might not sell for top dollar. Here are the results. Exterior and interior paint, a few new lighting fixtures, replacing carpet and adding a deck. The total for all items was less than $10,000 and we raised the price by $25,000 for a net profit of $15,000.
